ive always just flipped it upside down and pushed it against the guard as it sits on the wall, so you dont have to fuck with the bevel.

Get a set of crown stops for the saw, game changer. Holds the crown at the correct angle. You only have to change your miter angle and not the bevel than

45° spring is 30°b , 35.3°m. more popular in Canada. the 38/52 thing may come from the steepest angle gravel or sand can be piled. I don't know if that's true.
