I DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO PUT THIS INTO WORDS… 😭💙 MY BABY IS OUT OF OPEN HEART SURGERY. AND NOT ONLY DID HE MAKE IT THROUGH… THE DOCTORS WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE A FULL HEART REPAIR AND CLOSE HIS CHEST. 😭🙌🏽 They couldn’t save Sy’s pulmonary valve because it was just too small. His doctor told me a normal valve is around a 10, and Sy’s was around a 5. They were able to open it to around a 7, but it still wasn’t enough to save it. But the doctor told me something that gave me HOPE. He said Sy shouldn’t need anything done with that valve until he’s a teenager, and when that time comes, it may be handled through a catheter procedure instead of another open-heart surgery. Y’ALL… AFTER EVERYTHING MY BABY HAS BEEN THROUGH, I CAN LIVE WITH THAT. 😭❤️‍🩹 Right now his heart is beating a little slow, so they have him on a machine while they give his little body time to recover. But HIS HEART IS WORKING. HIS CHEST IS CLOSED. AND MY BABY IS STABLE. 🙏🏽 The doctor told me the surgery was complicated, but he was very satisfied with how everything went. And then he said something I will NEVER forget… He told me how proud he is of how far Sy has come. Because this little boy has been through things most grown people couldn’t handle. He came into this world fighting. NICU. VENTILATOR. AIRWAY SURGERY. TRACH. GJ TUBE. AND NOW OPEN HEART SURGERY. AND HE’S STILL HERE. 😭💙 What really got me is that they originally told me Sy could possibly need his trach for 10 YEARS. NOW THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT HIM POSSIBLY ONLY NEEDING IT UNTIL HE’S 2 OR 3. 😭😭😭 DO YOU HEAR ME??? THE SAME BABY THEY WARNED ME ABOUT IS THE SAME BABY WHO KEEPS PROVING THEM WRONG. I HAVE WATCHED MY SON FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE OVER AND OVER AGAIN. AND NOW I’M WATCHING HIM GET CLOSER TO ACTUALLY LIVING IT. 🥹💙 I’m not taking one second of this for granted. I’m not saying we’re completely done because I know my baby still has to recover. BUT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME… I CAN SAY WE’RE ALMOST THERE. 😭🙌🏽 Sy’AIR YAHMIR, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW PROUD YOUR MOMMY IS OF YOU. YOU FOUGHT YOUR WAY HERE, BABY.
