Another consequence of being taught that sex is shameful, dirty and bad is that when you then get into a serious relationship, psychologically "consentual sex" feels like abuse. In my opinion this is one of the biggest contributions to unhealthy intemate relationships. It takes a lot of work to recondition that corrupted foundation that was laid from such a young age.

we are also taught shame about our period products being in the trash. "wrap ur tampon/pad before you throw it away, no one wants to see that in the trash" ... ok but why?
