gluten is gluten. there is no special different european gluten. if this is your experience then you are not intolerant to gluten and it’s something else (maybe something commonly eaten with gluten) that you are sensitive to.

since so many people are saying this ,is it possible that even though it's classed and diagnosed as the same thing could it actually somehow be different since there are so many genuinely diagnosed americans that eat european gluten??

Sometimes gluten isn’t actually the problem. Different wheat products, longer fermentation, fewer additives, and lower levels of certain FODMAPs can make bread easier to digest. But if you have celiac disease, French bread is NOT safe!!! gluten is still gluten!

My partner has a wheat allergy in the states and turns red like a lobster when he eats wheat. When he’s with me where I’m from (The Netherlands) he’s totally fine eating wheat!

a friend in the US thought he was intolerant then switched to organic and had no problems, it was a reaction to whatever pesticide they used on the wheat, and I'd guess we don't use that in Europe

i'm french and since I moved to canada, i've became intolerant to white wheat here, but not in my country or the whole Europe. that's bc both wheat evoluated very differently and they add way more chemical in america, it's not as regulated as it is in europe

ngl i moved to canada and i had insane gi issues, ended up in the er, awful tummy aches every day no matter what i ate, I move back to france and Bam, I only get tummy aches from lactose again, turns out the food there is just wretched and fucked up
