Offered a girl a job (she appeared to be 20ish but I don’t know her exact age) when I told her what the rate of pay was she said “why would you offer me that? That’s not a bad bitch salary” and I have never hung up on someone so fast.

I legitimately had a job interview a couple weeks ago and one of the questions was do you know how to work a computer like an actual computer with a screen, a keyboard, a mouse, etc. And I was like, yeah, I know how to do that, and they went on to tell me that a lot of their applicants could only use tablets.

I had an interview the other day and he wanted to get to know the candidates personalities more so he asked what we couldn’t live without. I said books and music which I thought was a bit too cliche and he said that’s the best we’ve had everyone else said their vapes. VAPES. In an interview!!

YESSS THIS!!! I'm a hiring manager for a company that has an acronym for the name and one of our interview questions is what does the acronym stand for. It's all over our website and its literally written out below our newest logo design. The amount of people that don't know it when I ask them is actually insane. I know the job market is bad and that people are applying everywhere they can, but c'mon, at least do a little research when you land an interview!

the thing about gen Z is that they're very polarizing. I work with a lot of them. the ones that are good are great, the ones that aren't are horrible. and there's really not a whole lot of in between, and that's weird to me.

i dont understand whats going on with gen z. i am gen z and i feel like every year since my freshman year of highschool (im a senior in college now) im getting multiple teachers telling me how to build my resume, how to speak in interviews, how to present myself. am i just more privileged than i thought? or are other people not paying attention?

Tip from a millennial. Look up a companies culture values and when they’re asking why you’d be a good fit tell them how you fit into those culture values. Lets them know you looked into the business and tells them why you’re qualified beyond just skills

A lot of the issues are also on the companies so many people have turned hiring into a borderline humiliation ritual that people are burnt out because what do you mean I have to do an assessment when I put in an application and 3 separate phone interviews and then get ghosted with no response at all

I’m a 36 year old millennial. I had a Gen Z girl call me “mean” as a manager because she was written up for failing to show up for a staff meeting she had 3 weeks notice of, purely because it was at 9am and she didn’t want to get up that early. 🙄

I got my government job at 23 and they asked what I found interesting about the job and I honestly explained that it was hard to fully grasp what my duties would be from the information available online but I’m interested in *XYZ relevant topics* and I hope that it’ll translate to this work. They LOVED that answer
