If you like how it turns out, I’ll try to create an entire video this way using yarn, a crochet hook, and knitting needles. I have no idea how difficult that will be yet, but I really want to try. I don’t think anything inspires us quite as much as the natural world. Almost everywhere we look, there are patterns, colors and forms that humans have been trying to understand and recreate for thousands of years. The structure of a leaf, the symmetry of a flower, the movement of water, the shapes of mountains, even the way light passes through a forest - so many things we consider beautiful existed long before we were here to admire them. Nature also has an incredible ability to build complexity from very simple things. A tiny seed can eventually become a tree. Countless individual cells organize themselves into living organisms. Entire ecosystems emerge from millions of interactions between plants, animals, fungi, microorganisms, water, air and soil. And we sometimes talk about nature as if it were a separate world that begins somewhere outside our cities. But there was never really a boundary between us and it. The oxygen we breathe, the food we eat and the materials we build with all come from the same system.
