@fortworthians101: For the first time in decades, some non-travelers will once again be able to go through security at @DFW Airport without a plane ticket! Before 9/11, it was common for friends and family to go through airport security to say goodbye at the gate or be there when someone stepped off the plane. That changed after September 11th, 2001, when access beyond security became largely restricted to ticketed passengers. Now, a new TSA program called Gateside is bringing a version of that experience back! The new program allows eligible TSA PreCheck members to apply to go through security without a boarding pass. That means you could use it to: ✈️ Meet family or friends at their gate 🍴 Have lunch with someone during a long layover 🛍️ Visit restaurants and shops beyond security 🇺🇸 Welcome home a service member returning from deployment You must be a TSA PreCheck member with a Known Traveler Number and apply for a free Gateside pass one to three days before your visit. If approved, you’ll bring an acceptable form of ID to the airport and go through a TSA PreCheck security lane just like you would if you were flying. The program is currently available at 13 airports across the country, and DFW is the only participating airport in Texas so far! #dfw #airport #dallas #fortworth #dfwairport
