Aqua :

Correct me if I’m wrong but the Disney sea serpent is still under water I believe it creeped me out when I was younger

Sugar-Snail :

Every now and then I remember that when the parks close, the Corasari Sea Monster is quietly resting under water with a permanent angry expression.

xopoisonpixii :

Not an animatronic but there’s a statue of Jason voorhees that is chained to the bottom of a lake in Minnesota

Theo :

The Moby Dick from the Pleasure Island attraction. You used to be able to see it under the water on Google Maps even when it was fully submerged. The place closed, but the whale animatronic was abandoned and is supposedly still submerged at the bottom of the lake it was in.

Not That :

This isn’t a mechanical one but when they found that shark frozen in preservative in the abandoned aquatics area. The guy shines a light and this whole body just illuminates with a big back glow

Picklerabbit :

The pleasure island moby dick animatronic. It’s very rarely visible but when it is…

alyssajune :

the bunyip!!! i found it years ago and it still scares me. it’s gone thru so many phases too

Mayhem Maxolotl :

not an animation icon but the entire Teletubbis house

Ryan :

Sam/Lena :

That one that's submerged in a bathtub in a cave 😬

🌟 :

Abandoned 20,000 leagues under the sea animatronic 😭

FurryWasabi :

"Tsukumogami (付喪神) are a fascinating class of yōkai born from everyday household objects that have reached their 100th birthday. According to Japanese folklore, when an object survives for a century, it gains a soul, becomes self-aware, and comes to life..." sometimes I ponder if this applies to animatronics that teams of people had sunk their blood sweat and tears into making and maintaining daily...only to abandon after mechanical failures.

꧁Kira꧂ :

The freaking dragon from that hotel in Vegas that used to put on shows

🏳️‍🌈 Lily Adlehsa 🔮 :

That damned smiling shark...

8BitBrandon :

Not animatronic, but there’s a couples sculptures in different lakes. Ones a shark and another is this wire frame dragon thing. Creepy as hell

alishanicolex0 :

Look up submechanophobia

Barbara Gordon(#1 Donnie Fan) :

The giant dinosaur still figure that pops out of the lake in I think a dinosaur themed place to visit ohhfujfhfjfjcjri I know you’re not allowed to swim in the lake because it’s in there but omg that’s terrifying

annalovesfaust :

That giant Moby Duck animatronic 😭 I’d pass away if I ever saw that sitting in the lake

✨Miss New Vegas✨ :

Las Vegas, Merlin’s Dragon

cruise_ship_gal :

the Jaws animatronics that were in the Jaws ride at Universal.

Evil 2003 Honda Element :

The whale animatronic from that one park from the 1960s

Maddi🥀 :

I’m home alone rn I’m not looking at these comments til later

Doctor_Nightingale :

Hands down the Pleasure Island Moby Dick, especially if you have Cetaphobia to spice up your submechaniphonia

𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 Mr X :

￴ ￴￴ :
