@racheladamslee: My husband is my safe place. He is the calm in every storm and let’s be honest, sometimes I am the hurricane. 😂 I’m so grateful for the balance he brings to our family. I always dreamed of marrying a man who would be an incredible dad. But actually watching Ryan practice what he preaches and seeing how committed he is to raising our four boys to be kind, empathetic, good humans…is everything to me. This morning, Hayden had a complete meltdown. He was sobbing on the floor and hiding under the table because one of his brothers put his breakfast plate in the wrong spot. In Hayden’s little world, everything had fallen apart. Ryan didn’t yell. He didn’t demand that Hayden come out. He simply sat down on the floor beside him and offered him a hug. In our family, we have a saying: Connect before you correct. Sometimes our kids don’t need a lecture. Sometimes they just need to know they are safe, secure, and loved. Honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what I need too. Physical touch is my number one love language, and I think a few of our boys inherited that from me. 🤍 I’m so grateful that our boys are being raised by a man who encourages them to express their emotions, never makes them feel ashamed for having big feelings, and reminds them that there will always be a safe place for them in his arms. Marrying the right man doesn’t mean life will never feel stormy. It means you have someone who will sit beside you in the middle of it. Share this with your husband if you feel just as lucky. ❤️
