Kristi :
I have Crohn's disease. It means I have no control and can never ever trust a toot. I have had to beg airline attendants, store personnel, other folks in line for the facilities, to use the toilet urgently. My life is limited because of this. I can't go anyplace where there is a question on if a toilet is available. So going on trips, or a park, maybe a festival, anything is always an issue. I applaud her for pushing through something hugely humiliating, and bringing an issue that is so taboo to the forefront. However, maybe she should attempt to contain her poop, maybe adult diapers? When we're talking potential biohazard then its on the individual to do their best to ensure it effects no one else. That can't always be helped. I once needed to be excused from a call at work with a client, but my boss wouldn't allow me to step away and that resulted in an accident in my in front of all of my coworkers, an ambulance arriving for me, and a biohazard left for someone else to clean. Flight attendants, store managers, folks waiting in line(I know its terrible to cut and I promise I only do it when necessary)have caused me similar situations. What I am trying to say is everyone poops. Not everyone has control over when. The person affected should do there best to contain/control/prevent where possible, but the public needs to be more comfortable and accepting of those of us who have no control. Let a person skip the line, understand that sometimes I have to go even when the seatbelt sign is on, build more public bathrooms in our shared spaces. I don't want to always be house-bound. I want the freedoms most enjoy, but I won't be spreading my 💩 around. Please be understanding when you encounter people with these problems. It's isolating enough to have an illness no one feels comfortable talking about, but it feels even worse when you can't be a part of something because you can't tend to a simple need that everyone has because spaces are never created with consideration of the minority, the different, the disabled. In short, she needs depends, but the comments here are mean. She just wants to do what she loves.
