Every 3 months I'm required to spend an extra $120 (ish) to go in to see my doctor so that I can let him know that I still need the medicine that HE prescribed to me and to let him know I still have ADHD. That's ~☆*Extortion*☆~

I switched from Adderall to Strattera and it’s so much better. I don’t have the fear of running out like I did with Adderall, and it eliminated my brain fog just like stimulants did. I’m telling you, it’s way better.

Not to mention they literally act like you’re trying to buy crack when you’re trying to refill it….and then they don’t have it and they’re like next delivery is in 3 months….good luck!

Put in script. It’s ready. Go to pharm: it’s not ready come back tomorrow. Go back tomorrow, not ready come back 1 hour. Forget for 3 days. They unprepared it and put it back. Resubmit. They’re out of it and won’t have it for 2 weeks. This is the equivalent of their being medication for being short, but they put it on the highest shelf.

Pharmacy tech here, who’s also on adderall XR. Your feelings are 100% valid and the system sucks. I take brand name and that’s the only reason I have been able to get it consistently. Things have been on/off backorder for years now, the DEA limits how much we can order per day/per month but they don’t tell us what that number is 😒 I would recommend an independent pharmacy if you can go to one.

I just asked my doctor to up the dose or lower it 5mg after talking to the pharmacist. They usually have another mg just not the one you need at the time. I went a week without it and messaged my doctor and told them they had the option of a 25mg instead of a 20mg or switch to the 20mg instant release. They had the 25mg sent that day and filled. You sometimes have to advocate for yourself.

Try a pharmacy in an area where there are more elderly people than children. Similar supply, much lower demand.
