@colettescocktails: vanilla bean simple syrup 🍂🪵🍁 • split open 4 vanilla beans, scrape the insides into a small pot and then add the split open stalks as well • add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water • let simmer over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes • remove from heat and let full cool • strain out vanilla beans • store in the fridge for up to 4 weeks • enjoy!!! #simplesyrup #vanillabean #traderjoes #bourbon #traderjoesfinds
Hi Colette! The strong vanilla flavor actually comes from the bean itself and not the the seeds inside - the reason you scrape out the insides when making ice cream, custards etc it’s just to show that you have used real vanilla and not essence. If you like your vanilla syrup with the black little seeds you can continue doing it that way but if you’re only want the vanilla flavor and a ”clear” syrup you can just put the vanilla beans as is.
