No no no! He shouldn’t be allowed to ever have any position in a church or any place else that he is around children or teens!

I believe God DOES forgive & reform HOWEVER I don’t think we should forget and put offenders right back in charge in children! That’s just common sense! He can serve in other ways that don’t include being around children. I’m sorry about your past, proud of you for going to therapy and thank you for bringing this to light.

YHWH is a God of forgiveness. I’m sorry you had to go through this. I’m not here to call your experience into question. It’s valid in every way. I just don’t want to call the current man, “Evil”. His past self and his actions are horrendous beyond measure but repentant Christ followers are not evil. Colossians 2:13-14 2 Corinthians 2:5-11 Jeremiah 31:34 God calls us to forgive endlessly as he has endlessly forgiven all of us. Matt 18:22 Eph 4:32

Im sorry that happened to you.God’s grace is real, and forgiveness is real, but grace does not erase biblical standards for leadership, accountability, or the responsibility to protect others. Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3 make it clear that church leaders are called to a higher standard: they must be above reproach, self-controlled, trustworthy, and have a good reputation with outsiders. As human beings, we have to be careful not to act as though we are the administrators of God’s grace in a way that places “forgiveness” above wisdom, accountability, and responsibility. We do not get to use “God has forgiven him” as a reason to ignore serious consequences or to place vulnerable people at risk. Forgiveness and restoration to fellowship are not the same thing as qualification for leadership or unrestricted access to children. A person can be forgiven and still face boundaries. A person can be restored spiritually and still not be fit for certain roles. Biblical grace never requires a church to abandon discernment, accountability, or protection of the vulnerable. In fact, leaders should be held to a higher standard, not a lower one. Titus 1:7: “For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach.” 1 Timothy 3:2, 7: an overseer must be “above reproach” and “well thought of by outsiders.” Grace is not the absence of accountability. Biblical grace and biblical accountability belong together.

I do believe they can be forgiven, however I do not believe they should be given a position in the church to hold. But they have a right to come and worship just like anyone else if they are changed.

It happened to me once when I was 4 by a family member and then a different family member did it when I was 12. I was told to let it go and just forget about it.

Thank you for sharing your story. I am sick about this. 9 boys. Lives changed forever and people are defending the abuser. And certain leadership knew and still allowed it.

You were meant to be led to that church to expose the behavior to bless others and preventing this from continuing. Sending hugs 🤗

Hey my friend, the same thing happened to my old church growing up. My youth pastor actually(southern baptist) btw haha. It rocked my faith until years later I truly focused on God and God alone. His attributes, his love, his glory, him alone. I hope the Lord guides you through this time and I’m so thankful for you speaking up my friend.

I live in Jonesboro ga and this makes me sick u should absolutely tell us who he is especially if he is on the registry don’t feel bad it’s not slander at all it’s the rights of our community to know and most sex offenders that get out are not supposed to even be near kids at all

Do all churches do this? I just left my church in May for many reasons but one reason is because they hide SA.

Thank you for sharing this. I was victim of childhood trauma. I’m 63 and I trust no one because of the damage they did. Predators use all kinds of manipulation tactics and titles to get away with it. Some of them believe it is normal what they are doing. Or they use God to lure their victims and then people blame and the God because of the evil that was done to them. I grew up fearing God and not for the right reason. I figured it all out yers later. Anyways great video and your message hit home for me.
