@g1vemiabreak_: Yes I know him protecting his world is how he has to be I was just so used to seeing him from Feyte’s POV…so this post is partially in jest‼️ #creatorsearchinsights #readingabookaday #acotar #crescentcity #rhysand
I saw a post. And it said when you see Rhys in CC3 you’re seeing the high lord of a night court who’s responsible for keeping his people safe. You’re seeing him at work. But in the ACOTAR books your seeing him with his mate and friends

We’re seeing him as a high lord instead of a love interest!

He didn’t seem mean at all to me in CC3. Bryce was a stranger and for all he knew a threat. I mean when Bryce first sees Rhys and Feyre she says “both possessed an air of quiet gentle authority” and it’s cool to see him in his high lord moments imo

I mean her and Nesta, Cassian all give us a pov where he’s not always nice. Of course in feyres pov he’s nice because they’re mates and we are seeing him from her in love pov.

Fireheart 📚(Alexa’s Version) :
People forget that Bryce was a random fae that came out of nowhere. Of course Rhys (high lord of the night court, protector of Velaris) is not going to trust her. Look what happened to the last fae they trusted.

Pretty sure he's exactly how Bryce depicts him and he's only nice to like 3 people

It’s so interesting seeing ACOTAR characters from an outsider’s (Bryce) POV!! Bc the whole time Nesta was horrible and nasty but Bryce saw eye to eye with her and almost respected her from the beginning. And Rhys was the standoffish one!

That’s High Lord Rhys who is protecting his people and his land - not Feyres husband Rhys

I mean, we are told in the ACOTAR series that he puts on this big scary evil facade to keep his people and court safe, so I see it as that's what's happening because someone randomly teleporting to your world is probably perceived as a massive potential threat

she was a complete stranger from a DIFFERENT PLANET. can we not give him some grace for being protective/cautious 😭😭

It did change my perspective of him a wee bit but like in more of a “oh he’s a ruthless high lord” way.. I mean I too would be questioning a random woman dropping in to my world and in my home with my family 🥲 especially after he saw Aelin already!!! But at the same time I totally get Bryce thinking he was controlling because he did come off that way in her limited perspective

honestly i attributed it to nyx having been born, and he was like extra protective over them, especially after what they went through during the pregnancy/birth!!!

We really gotta remember what Sarah says about how when you’re reading from the perspective of the character, they’re not always reliable narrators.

I mean it’s been heavily expressed that he always presents his court of nightmares “mask” for anyone that’s not his inner circle pretty much. And with Bryce being a complete stranger who is clearly very powerful he’s going to be really protective.

Okay, for argument sake here though, the “He’s being a high lord and protecting Velaris” when he literally negotiates and gives an orb to the human queens in ACOMAF and then straight up bargains with Keir to give him access to Velaris. HOT TAKE (and theory)—-he’s got a “little birdie” in his ear manipulating him against Nesta and Bryce (they both have powers that can take out valg).

I honestly looked at it as too many ppl have been dropping into or through his court lately so he’s like damn that’s a big threat to my family cause theres a hole somewhere in my court lmaooo I fully believe he didn’t really help Aelin go back to her world for good intentions he was probably like whoever you are get the fuck out of my court I’ll give you a hand and flung her outta there 😭 so him being mean to Bryce wasn’t surprising like homie would burn her world if it meant his world would survive

Absolutely and I do think rhysand is extremely intimidating, powerful, and “dark” like in ACOTAR we first hear of him cuz he sent a drcapitated head on a spike to spring 😭 he IS scary !!!! But Feyra does not see him that way cuz she’s not scared of him. They are equals ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rhys gives me the absolute ick now. On my first read, I saw some red flags, I’m doing a re-read for the third time before the new book comes out, him and Feyre absolutely are icky and I hate it.

Bryce does start the book by showing him what guns are. I think he's terrified through the whole book

I’m doing a reread and honestly I think if it wasn’t Feyre’s pov, we would like her OR Rhys. 🤷♀️

Seeing Rhysand through a character that ultimately hates men a good chunk of her series. Yes lol Bryce depicts him like her father.
