@weather_breakingnews: September 10, 2026 Gallia County, Ohio, USA On September 10, heavy rains caused flash flooding in Gallia County in southeastern Ohio. Between 100 and 180 mm of rain fell in a short period of time, causing rapid rising waters and inundating roads and homes. Gallipolis and the Rio Grande River were the hardest hit. Rescuers conducted several rescues from vehicles caught in high water. The most severe flooding occurred along State Route 160, Bulaville Pike, and State Route 554. Significant flooding occurred near the Holzer Medical Center Complex in Gallipolis, where the medical complex was surrounded by water from the overflowing Chickamauga Creek. Emergency services were forced to evacuate residents from some homes. Heavy rains also affected neighboring West Virginia, where Jackson and Mason counties were affected. Numerous rescue operations were conducted in Jackson County, and high water in Mason County closed roads, including in the Point Pleasant area.
