Fishing is closed to thresher sharks in Washington waters.They are a protected species & removing any part of a beached animal or fish is also illegal. See, if I have the jaw & say I found it, they don’t know if I really found it, or the animal was killed illegally, it’s why we protect wildlife, because humans do not care. Same reasoning as to why I can’t have an eagle feather or tiger fur. It’s not rocket science, folks.

I learned from a sub comment, you cant own any parts of a thresher shark because its heavily restricted or otherwise illegal due to conservation laws and cruelty to sharks via "finning"

I'm in Minnesota so obviously not real informed about any laws regarding this but if there isn't any in place then like what's the problem... if it was already dead and was still there a week after it was reported? I mean personally I wouldn't do this to any animal but if someone else seized an opportunity I don't get what the issue would be?
