@kenbogner: AI companies now want government regulation. Did AI CEOs suddenly have a change of heart to start caring about the future of humanity or are they trying to protect themselves? If the AI bubble pops, there better not be a government bailout.
AI is one of the most phenomenal technologies of our generation. The people who utilize it will be much better off in the long run than the people who don’t. That being said, there is undoubtedly a bubble, and it will pop. I think that will be closer to 2029, but that’s just me.

I do think 2 things are true here: 1) AI is capable of going rogue and being a threat to US systems. 2) The frontier labs don’t want to be caught holding the bag when the bubble pops and want to be nationalized, regulated, & subsidized so the taxpayers pay for their poor choices.

It’s an auto correct with a larger context window. These companies can’t survive without Government stepping in and creating a monopoly.

If they were concerned they would regulate themselves. Please do not bail them out
