i kept thinking about that but theres 1 more POV for this that i think everybody is missing out on, what if this is one of her mission or task from HP. for asmoday to intercept the twins and stay with them until HP woke up again. to make sure they will not reunite again. like a body guard somehow (late night thoughts, dont mind me)

Theory I've had for a while now: Asmoday is in charge of maintaining the Firmament, and she knows this shit isn't going to work in the long-run. Our Sibling and Vedrfolnir presented her with an alternative plan: use the Loom of Fate to weave countless new realms (like with New Khaenri'ah) where every possibility can coexist simultaneously. This would calm the Abyss and create something of a multiverse.

My take is that she first believed in phanes word without cuestion, she fullfiled her duty as the shadow of space then she met the travelers (the beginning cutscene) and we know that was prior the cataclysm so something must happen after that , that made her not aling with phanes anymore so she was conflicted and at the end had to fullfill her duties as a shade and anihilate an entire civilization. My take on her is that she kinda holded dear humanity and was curious but held back due to the possibility of a punishment, as we know she kept pocket spaces simulating realities in which “humans” lived maybe she tried to help also khaenrians and got injured and the abyss aided her.
