DURING VENTILATION • ❌ Forcefully

Create a gentle seal (C-clamp and E-clamp) and ventilate gently, observing the chest rise. • • ❌ Forgetting nasal oxygen: Always use a high-flow nasal cannula (15 L/min) during breath-holding. This buys you valuable minutes before the patient turns blue. 3. DURING LARYNGOSCOPY • ❌ LEVERAGING: This is the golden rule. The laryngoscope blade should be raised toward the ceiling, never resting on the teeth. A broken tooth cannot be repaired. • ❌ Inserting without a stylet: With a videolaryngoscope, the tube needs a "stick" curve. Watch the screen to guide the passage over the vocal cords, but watch the patient's mouth to avoid tearing the throat. 4. THE GOLDEN RULE AFTER INTUBATION • ❌ Relying on stomach noises or breath sounds: 99% of preventable deaths result from an improperly placed, undetected tube. The only truth is a SUSTAINED capnography line (minimum 6 breaths with a plateau). Without that, the tube is removed, no exceptions. AND THE SUPREME COMMANDMENT: If you don't see the vocal cords within 30 seconds with your best effort, stop, call for help, and oxygenate the patient. Oxygen is life; the tube is just an accessory. Remember that the information I provide doesn't necessarily cover procedures I PERFORM.
