School systems changed the learning process of shit so much parents can’t even help, they don’t bring home text books so u can’t even index the learning material for them. They just coming home with papers. They need to get rid of homework, 8hrs a day learning 5-7 subjects is exhausting enough. They home they’re off the clock

I literally have a girl who came to my room almost in tears saying “miss please enter my grade, my parents are upset.” I had missed a google form submission of hers and hadn’t circled back to it yet, I had a ton of kids submit that assignment super late. She was making a 79. They were bitching at her over a 79. She wasn’t even remotely close to failing.

I stopped liking school when teachers used to say shi like “ you can’t do it like that do it this way it doesn’t matter if you were right” “ show your work” it stopped feeling like learning and started feeling like conditioning

The “work” anxiety is coming from being at school 8+ hours and coming home to do the activities they enjoy. Then trying to have a moment to themselves, but forget they have a hour worth of homework or projects due. Which leads to speeding through the work, getting it wrong because they don’t want to get into trouble with their parents because they wanted to the last minute to do their work. Just my opinion.

I'll be honest. The workload is entirely too much for them. My daughter is in 2nd grade and the amount of vocabulary words and math they must learn and be tested on every week is truly ridiculous. There is no time left for anything else. They are burnt out!

My daughter I feel like is receiving so much stress from their ela teacher she is tryna be strict and run like a dictatorship to try and know as the strict teacher , and she is putting so much pressure on them at 10 to be perfect I def wanna address it at the school tomorrow

It doesn’t help that nobody is really hiring so when these parents keep yelling at their kids to get a job and they say “I’m trying” all they see is laziness and keep yelling at their kids.

Not only at home but at school. The classroom can be very intimidating especially when each kid learns at a different pace. Most teachers don’t make students feel safe in their process of learning new material. A lot of work is rushed through for the curriculum or timeline. Getting extra help is frowned upon, and answering question in class around other kids can feel scary. School isn’t for everyone.

I don’t let my daughter struggle because she purposely gets things wrong just to get finished with the work! I would be okay if she really struggled and then I’d go over it with her. However, she doesn’t try!

Ms. These parents don’t care. They want us to get out their face and get the work done. Parents stopped caring a long time ago. Us kids are totally leaning on our own understanding because of our stressful ass parents.
