@rabbiraps: My daughter just completed her second full fast! ❤️ With Shaina’s Bat Mitzvah coming up, she’s practicing for the responsibilities of Jewish adulthood. Today was the Fast of Gedaliah, remembering the assassination of Gedaliah after the destruction of the First Temple. His murder by a fellow Jew led to further tragedy and exile. We fast to remember that hatred and division can destroy—and that teshuvah, kindness and unity can rebuild. Now it’s time to EAT! 😋✡️
