This isn’t my usual type of post but i think it’s time i shared my story. First year university was the worst my mental health has ever been. Moving 5 hours away from home where nobody knew me was so daunting. I put such high expectations in place for myself to please everyone around me. The result of that was I fell into a severe eat!ng d!sorder and my anx!ety was at an all time high. I think i nearly dropped out at least 5 times. Getting help and reaching out was the best thing ive ever done for myself so if i can encourage at least one person to ask for help then my job has been done. There’s no shame in struggling, you’re resilient and pushing through so many things at once. When I started this account I was still in r3covery, I’m living proof it’s possible. Now, 2.5 years on and my graduation on the horizon I can strongly say I’m the happiest, healthiest, and strongest I’ve ever been. That’s why I’m running the Manchester Half in October. Because i want as many people to know they’re not alone, that they matter, and recovery is possible. #university #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawearness #uni #studentlife
