There was an eq in my home region a few years ago and it destroyed the main coastal highway (with a very limited and long detour in place). During the years it took to repair the road, they had it open with lots of one-way sections. You could be stopped for 30+ mins, under cliffs, next to all the warning signs saying “no stopping, high rockfall area”…they even had shelters built for the staff manning the sites incase of rockfalls…meanwhile we’re just sitting in our cars hoping for the best 😬😬😂😂
