@nora.steele57: Chicago rapper BloodHound Q50, whose real name was Mikquale T. Cooper, was fatally shot at just 22 years old in what police described as an ambush outside a Fuller Park gas station. The shooting happened around 3:58 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, in the 4200 block of S. Wentworth. Police said Cooper was sitting in the driver’s seat of his Tesla when two vehicles pulled alongside him. Multiple people inside the vehicles allegedly opened fire directly at him. Cooper suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder. Chicago firefighters treated him at the scene, but he was later pronounced d3ad at 4:35 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Cooper leaving the gas station and getting into his Tesla before multiple shooters began firing from both sides. One witness told the Chicago Sun-Times they believed they heard more than 100 shots. Dozens of evidence markers were reportedly found around the Tesla, while nearby Subway windows were also struck. The rising rapper had recently performed at Rolling Loud in May and released his latest project, “Get Back or Die Trying,” in August. Just two months before the attack, Cooper spoke publicly about having been shot before and said he wasn't afraid of what might happen to him. “If it can be my day, it’s my day,” he said in an interview with DJ Akademiks. The Chicago Police Department has not publicly identified a motive or any suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
