He is my fav because I think he is a very well written character. Especially after reading sb I found it very fascinating how despite all his flaws he still finds it in him to forgive others and move on from trauma. I also love how he represents the need to know oneself while also representing the meaninglessness of it. I think a lot of people struggle with identity and the underlying theme of “you don’t have to put a label on it” that is present in his character is good message for them.

I like to mischaracterize Chuuya in my head because I like to mess around with my favorite characters(plus it doesn’t do any harm, since it’s in my head and I don’t actually think he’ll act like that), even though I know they wouldn’t act the way I am imagining. However, some people mischaracterize him so much it hurts 🥲. It’s really similar to how people mischaracterize Dazai as well(technically every single character) but for chuuya and dazai, they make chuuya so dumb sometimes, like he didn’t monopolize(or something idk how to describe it) the jewels industry of the mafia in one year of being in the mafia. Is not his fault he is surrounded by genius(like Dazai, Mori, ranpo(in that one fight) fyodor, and so on), after all since he is so strong asagiri surrounds him with genius or something. And like when they say Dazai is weak physically, well of course it’ll look like that his two partners are very strong, so he looks weak, but Dazai is fast and packs a decent punch and strength, as seen in the flashbacks of him beating akutagawa or in dead apple when he escaped when he was handcuffed. Like they are both strong and smart, Dazai being a genius and chuuya a powerhouse, but that doesn’t mean they lack at the other skills. I think that’s why they work so well together, they are both prodigies.
