✈️🔍 THE INVESTIGATION: LEARJET CRASH IN GREENACRES, FLORIDA GYSTWIP friends, a private jet came down in a Florida neighborhood today — and tonight, the investigation is just beginning. What officials have confirmed: the FAA says a Learjet 60 crashed near Greenacres, in Palm Beach County, at about 12:50 p.m. today, along Military Trail near Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North, in a mobile home neighborhood. Nine people were on board; officials have not yet released their names or conditions, and they have not confirmed whether anyone on the ground was hurt. Fire Rescue described a mass casualty incident. The flight had taken off from Austin, Texas, bound for North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. Public flight-tracking data (ADS-B Exchange) shows the jet descended about 27,000 feet in roughly one minute before the data cut off. Now the investigation takes over: the FAA and the NTSB will investigate, with the NTSB in charge of all updates. An NTSB go-team will document the wreckage piece by piece, work to recover the flight recorders, and pull the radar records and air traffic control tapes. Investigators will study the weather — it was overcast, with rain, lightning and storms in the area — along with the jet's maintenance records, the pilots' training and medical files, and the fuel. They will also be looking for witnesses, and for any doorbell or dashcam video from the neighborhood. What we do NOT know: officials have NOT announced a cause. Please be careful with rumors — anything beyond the confirmed facts right now is guessing. The NTSB's preliminary report usually comes within about 30 days; a final report can take a year or longer.
