I really want to do 3rd omniscient, but it is hard to play as many tricks as I want on the reader. A lot of my book relies on them being blindsided by perspectives

Series I’m writing based on Slavic mythology and Slovene folklore is 3rd person narrator like someone is reading a story, but first person for the 1 specific character and the chapters that include her. :-D manuscripts of fist 3 books are done but still working on getting the first book polished and ready to beta read after almost 2 years 😭😭

loophole to the first person thing where you're limited to that person's perspective telepathic dragon who links all the friends in a mental talk because that's how dragons communicate yes I know that's very specific but yeah that was one of my ideas of work your progress things that I was thinking about doing that one was really close to being actually done and then book three decided to throw a pothole at me and you know drag me into a spiral so then I also was thinking well I had this during an idea and I've always wanted to do the main character as a dragon and basically flip the Dragon Rider dynamic where you get the perspective of the Dragon instead of the human so I pivoted and started that recently yes she talks like any normal person but the telepathic thing is a way to get around it

Thoughts on books that are first person, but alternate characters on chapter changes? I read one awhile back (forgot the name) that switched between a male & female lead each chapter
