Its the same thing with other professions, eg, cooking....after cooking for hrs, who actually wants to cook for themselves 😭 Most chefs would eat asandwich or not at all

Back then if a stylist had her hair done you KNEW s/he stayed booked! ...Nooowww??? If i come to you + your hair is done that means you don't have many clients and are more than likely going to play in my head.. for a new wig 😭 i need them looking like me when i walk in the door 😂

I think most clients now have trust issues, they want to make sure they can entrust it to a good stylist who knows how to care for their own hair. Off course they can always refer to your work. I understand what you’re saying though, it can be a difficult balance. I make sure I leave a day off for self care.

Myast stylist hair was always in a messy bun. That's how I met her, and I k ew she was gonna be good. I equate it to working fashion retail and having a messy closet. You spend all day re-folding clothes - last thing you wanna do when you get home is touch another piece of clothing.

My cousin she had nice hair her hair never looked bad but she rarely put as much time in her own head as she did her clients. She ALWAYS did well the heads of her clients. I understood that.

There’s stylist that do things for look and not health. If their hair isn’t healthy I’m not sitting in their chair. Like just braiders hair was always bout to break off more than normal when done when I was younger.
