@abiodunolusolas: So, you’ve subscribed to the Dangote Refinery IPO. Congratulations! But your work as an investor doesn’t end when you click "Submit." In fact, this is where another important part of your investment journey begins. Here are the 7 things you should do right now after subscribing: 1️⃣ Keep Your Subscription Confirmation: After submitting your application, save your confirmation, transaction reference, receipt, or any evidence showing that your payment was successful. Don't delete it! You may need it later if there is an issue with your application. Screenshot everything immediately. Check your email and mark the confirmation message as "important" or "starred" so it doesn't get lost. 2️⃣ Monitor Your Investment Platform: Go into your phone settings right now and turn on notifications for whatever app you used to buy this IPO (like Bamboo, Cowrywise, or your bank app). Don't rely on emails alone, sometimes critical money updates get lost in the spam folder! Keep checking your platform regularly for updates about your application, allotment, or refunds. 3️⃣ Wait for the Official Allotment: This is very important to understand: paying for the shares does not automatically mean you will receive every single unit you requested. After the offer closes, all applications will be processed. If the demand is higher than the shares available, allocations will be scaled down. For example, if you applied for 1,000 shares, you might receive fewer than that. 4️⃣ Don't Panic If You Don't Get Full Allotment: If you receive fewer shares than you paid for, do not panic! That is exactly how a highly demanded public offer works. If too many people apply, the shares have to be split proportionally. Any money for shares you didn't get will be fully and automatically refunded to your wallet or bank account by mid-to-late November. 5️⃣ Reinvest Your Refunds in December: If you do get a refund and you still want more shares, don't just spend the cash on everyday items. Once the refinery officially lists on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) in December, you can use that exact refunded cash to buy more units directly from the stock market! 6️⃣ Don't Rush to Sell: Once the shares eventually list on the NGX, the market price may move above or below the ₦525 IPO price, and social media will be full of loud predictions. Some people will tell you to take quick profits, while others will panic. You don't have to sell simply because the price rises, and you shouldn't panic-sell if the price dips. Hold steady. 7️⃣ Be Patient and Watch Your Investment: This is the most important rule of all. Don't expect to suddenly become rich overnight just because you bought an IPO. True wealth takes time. The real investment journey begins after the IPO hype fades. Keep an eye on the company's financial results, check their profitability, and watch out for dollar dividends when they are declared! ✅ LIKE and SHARE this with your friends. ©️ Abiodun Olusola #dangote #dangoterefinery #stocks #shares #money
