I was 10 they put that stuff on the TV and then when we invaded the news show the combat that was awesome as a kid then as soon as I could, I enlisted

Dude I was locked away at RTC Great Lakes on my 5-2 day of Navy Boot camp basic training. We were shut off from the world and our RDCs had to halt the division while we were marching on the grinder and said the the twin towers were hit by planes ✈️in NYC. We were baffled and then had to watch Tom Brokaw on NBC News with a B&W box tv for the rest of the day. I will never forget that and a girl in my division had a family member at the pentagon and she was hysterical and she was escorted to the base Chapel. My ship USS JFK was one of the first to take part in air ops strikes on 10 March 2002 on the GWOT and I will never forget that either.

Bruh I had the SAME experience. Same age too in kindergarten. I remember getting picked up from school just shortly after being dropped off, going home and seeing it on the TV, parents and grandma just distraught.

I was 18 years old almost 19, ten days after 9/11 happened. I just thought why did this have to happen when I decided to join the military. 😳
