@demidemz__: My faith is forever shaken and I’ve masked being a strong Christian for too long and now, I’m tired. I’m not interested in pleasing anyone who has not walked a day in my shoes anymore. I have no reason to mask to people when God knows my heart is still broken and that I’m deeply disappointed by Him for not protecting my mother. I’m learning each day to heal from grief and deal with the journey of grief. Your sermons are not a fix all solution for me. And you might never understand till you experience it. #fyp #griefjourney

It's not ridiculous, I lost my sister too after doing everything I could. It's valid. I just hope that as healing comes, you don't reject it ♥️

It’s not easy oo. 15 years ago I lost my mom. At the time I was basically a child and didn’t know God at all. My mom was an ardent believer. Even on her deathbed, woman will not shut up about God. After her death if you mention God to me, I’ll cut you off cos I didn’t want to hear it. My only hope left was my Grandma and guess what? Exactly 4 years later, 2 weeks to wassce, i lost her too. At that time i had started a new journey with God so this was a big blow. I fasted, I prayed, I begged, but she still died. A part of me also died that day. I started having harboring bitterness and doubts about God. Life wasn’t easy after that oo. My siblings and I faced the worst of worst things in life. Our family broke apart and my heart broke too. Even now things are still not better yet. 2 years ago my aunty died and left me devastated. Then just last year my father fell ill and was practically dying in my hands. Before he fell ill I had a dream that he fell ill but I prayed and he woke up. So this time when it was happening my mind went to that dream and I PRAYED! My prayer was basically “if you take this man away, I’ll END it with you”. My dad lived, but he’s not the same anymore. I feel so scared and sad everyday when I look at him. One thing after the other is happening to us and we are tired. I feel so sad for my siblings and I. I’m only still believing cos I want to see the end of this all. I want to see it with my own eyes if we ever make it out of this mess.

Gurrrrl, I understand like madddd because I watched my mom die whiles heavily pregnant with my daughter. Nothing can erase the pain in my heart and what it felt like that day. I haven’t stepped foot in church since 2023 because I have so many questions and keep asking why I’d go through such an ordeal. My faith is shattered to the ground. I pray strength for you. Hopefully, we all find the answer to why we weren’t giving that option. It is well 🫂 ❤️❤️

I felt the same way when my mum passed. I prayed and did everything I believed I was supposed to do. What made me question Christianity wasn’t necessarily God, but the idea that prayer somehow puts a Christian above the realities of life.Look at Japan, largely non-Christian society with one of the world’s highest life expectancies and nearly 100,000 people aged 100+.Maybe the reality check is that faith can give us strength, but prayer isn’t a guarantee that life will follow the outcome we want. People get sick, people die, and some live very long lives. These realities don’t neatly follow religious lines. We can have faith while still acknowledging reality.

“But what is faith that hasn’t been tested?” When I lost my mom in 2021, I was shouting at him in my head too even while I was in church , I wouldn’t stand,I wouldn’t clap , simply no engagement . When my mom was alive, she use to say I had the gift of faith, but there I was feeling like my faith had been buried with her. That Sunday evening service, I was genuinely having a conversation with him in my head about how I believed in him, how I had defended him every time and yet he had still hurt me so badly (ps: I grew up with a blind dad,he lost his sight few months before I was born he’s never seen me, in that moment I was convinced God was simply not for me ) and he said to me “but what is faith that hasn’t been tested”? And as much as I still grieve with so much pain, like how I felt when the sun still came up next day despite knowing she was dead, like what do you mean this is real? How am I seeing a new day without my mother? how did my eyes even open?. I find satisfaction and comfort in knowing that God knows i still believe in him .That I’m holding unto the hem of his garment when I had all the reasons to doubt him, stay angry and even give up on him. Your pain is one of the most heart wrenching thing anyone could experience , it would honestly be surprising if you didn’t feel this way. The pain will not go away but I pray that God comforts you and keep you. I know he’s going to wait patiently for you to slowly learn to trust him again, no rush, on your on pace ,take your time but know that He is there and shares in your pain even if it doesn’t feel or look like it 🤍

I lost my son.he slipped through fingers just like that at a time I was spending my life deep in the service of the church. Caring for widows and ophans. On that night a woman I had never seen before came around and gave a word of knowledge concerning a battle over my son’s life in the spiritual realm. I come from a family of great men and women of God . I called and everyone rushed to the hospital and we took charge and prayed and prayed till morning, my dad took my son home and for almost 48hrs we prayed and prayed and prayed , no food no water and yet nothing happened, it shook my faith and everyone else , especially the people who looked up to our family in faith. In the mist of all this God gave us IS 60:18 as a convenant verse . Recovering has never been easy but we remain resolute in his faithfulness that he knows what is best for his children and also remember that mummy has been called home by his maker; to him it’s a victory for the heavens as a saint is returning home and to us the pain of the departure of a loved one won’t be understood but I can assure you that with time you will begin to appreciate the wisdom in his ways and that his plans concerning you is perfect. Time heals my dear. There are a million things that he’s doing for you on your blind side .❤️❤️

The pain you feel is not something you’d wish even on your worst enemy. There’s a different kind of struggle in believing God for a miracle while also accepting that His will may be different from what you prayed for. Feeling hurt, disappointed, even betrayed, yet still choosing to trust Him, is a pain that is hard to explain.

it's good to question God. I didnt loose a parent i lost an auntie who was was my favorite aunty. I did pray even went to prayer gardens to pray for her. she still died. I questioned him. really did to the extent that I questioned my pastor she didnt rebuke but comforted me. I think its good to question God in times of Grief. the people in the Bible questioned him. CS Lewis questioned him in the grief observed .

I feel the same way, I’m glad I’ve found someone that shares my exact sentiments. Felt helpless watching my mother die right in front of me, calling his name and asking Him to help. My mother lived her life for his word .. my faith has been terribly shaken.

I was in this place when I lost my father. It’s a journey that only you can go on and go on it with God. Being honest about how you feel is so important! I pray for healing because it’s possible ❤️…I prayed for over an hour for my father to return. But God said no. Now, I’ve come to understand that it’s easier for them at the other side. It’s us who feel the pain. All the best sisss

I had a similar experience when I lost my father who at the time was picking up financially after a long period of financial drought. It was really absurd to me how, shortly after I properly dedicated my life to Him, he decided to let me down this way... I took on the conviction later that "He is God and some of His acts wouldn't meet the logic of mere mortals as us" I believe I'm currently a consequence of that event, in that it positioned me better although I still didn't understand why my father had to go but I've stopped asking that question long ago... Hmmmm
