Originally a Kaleesh warrior named Qymaen jai Sheelal, he was badly injured in an accident and rebuilt as a cyborg. Grievous became a powerful military commander under Count Dooku and was trained in lightsaber combat, despite not being Force-sensitive. He is known for collecting the lightsabers of Jedi he has defeated and using multiple lightsabers at once, making him a dangerous opponent. Grievous is feared for his speed, strength, intelligence, and ruthless leadership. He played an important role in the Clone Wars by commanding Separatist forces against the Galactic Republic and the Jedi. Although he was a formidable fighter, his hatred and overconfidence often caused him to make mistakes. Grievous was eventually defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi on the planet Utapau, where Obi-Wan destroyed him after a fierce battle, marking one of the final major victories before the rise of the Galactic Empire.
