Give her the money in an envelope and just walk away. What is she gonna do? Throw the money away? That’s her money.. she should have it, especially because we all donated to help HER.

I hope a lot of people can visit and buy from her so she can continue to feel a sense of purpose! And also to maybe leave some gifts as a “token of appreciation for her hard work and consideration” instead of framing it as help or support

Pls just give her the money. Pride is an important thing for their generation. Sometimes you even have to beg to help them. Just please put the money in an envelope and give it to her

She attends some of the charity services that I volunteer at. There’s always been a language barrier. Hearing this side of her story is a blessing, thank you!

Wow, Grandma is so sweet! Here we thought she refused to accept the money because she was "prideful" or there was a misunderstanding/miscommunication involved, but instead it turns out she does this to past time, and it gives her purpose in life...she also understands the struggles and plight many international students are facing? Studying abroad and not being able to work is a struggle for many students. There's a stereotype that all international students come from wealthy families (to be able afford the high tuition/boarding costs), but I know the reality is, some parents are borrowing loans and using their own life-savings, making sacrifices and working so hard to send their children to university in the USA, hoping they will one day achieve their dreams. Thank you to everyone involved! Hope ppl continue to show up and support Ktown Grandma. 🙏

Korean people her generation are proud. They won’t take charity especially if you film it. Trying to give her charity is making her lose face. You should have told her she won a prize or a contest. That would have allowed her to save face. You need to learn more about Korean elders from her generation

You’re projecting - nobody mentioned your maturity level. My comment you screenshot did not say anything about your maturity. I simply suggested having a middle aged Korean person who is 100% fluent in Korean, who understands the Korean elderly spirit, to communicate with this lady and find a way to get her this money that is intended for her. It’s her money
