I think part of your point with the girl tho got a bit lost for me. This guy didn’t text me for a wk and I’d liked him more than I’d ever liked anyone but I figured he wasn’t interested or was super busy. It turned into ego games because we’re both being told to “play it cool” on different ends. Now I think it was immaturity on both of our parts and not necessarily disinterest. I wish we could start over with what I know now but it’s very confusing when the girls are being taught to expect a man to show interest most as the queens we are and you all are being taught to be nonchalant as the kings you are. We’re all sitting on our thrones of miscommunication and no one is moving anywhere. Dating has become stalemate.

I appreciate this topic. I think it’s hard for some people to receive because they don’t understand themselves. Common misconception for relationships in general: to complete ‘me’. You’re setting up for failure with that mindset. A commitment is two defined individuals showing up for that commitment 100%. It’s not 50/50. If one person isn’t showing up 100: resentment.

the problem with the arrangements like you mentioned is that, at one point, inevitably, one party starts to feel differently, and more often than not, it ends in a variety of "you were supposed to fall in love with me with time," and there's not much you can say at that point that's not already self-explanatory, so it just creates bad blood between two ppl who falsely believed they had an arrangement for the longest time. Also, you forgot to promote the book 🙈
