Had a stomach virus while cutting weight. Doctor said I needed to drink a lot more water but I didn't because I was more afraid of my coach being upset with me for missing weight. Almost passed out a couple of times and threw up a lot

I remember this. Something I like about ippo is that it shows the dangers of combat sports like CTE and the merciless RIGIDITY of weight divisions. In fact I think takamura nearly dehydrated from losing so much water weight

I love this scene becuz he was surprised how unfaze he looked and he thought wow champs are just made different until he realize champs are human and also feel pain but do it secretly with out showing it to others… this made me realize a lot…
