Get them to do a sweep of room offering a glass of red or white for the meal.. Nephew did table wine and sooo many full and half full bottles left at end of night such a waste of money and it was good wine aswell btw people will talk no matter what what you do so suit yourself and your budget ..

I didn't do table wine at my wedding. it was a sit down meal for 75 people and not one person mentioned....everyone said they had the best day because it was all so relaxed. if people want to judge you on something as simple as that, then it says more about them than it does about you 🥰

I worked in Belfast Castle back in the day. That sort of thing would have been pretty uncommon. Usually the Das did buy a round for everyone though. I agree, most people just drink it because it’s there. Pick wine YOU really like and just have it at the top table. I would never go to a wedding as a guest and expect drink.

I think people will go into dinner expecting it to be there so it could cause a bit of a sudden surge to the bar when people realise and want to get their own drink to bring to dinner but that isn’t the end of the world is it! You do you

Sometimes it’s wasted - I’ve been to weddings where there’s lots of full glasses left on tables! Do what you want to do - drinks reception is more than enough 💚

Married YEARS ago in pre social media simpler times… we did table wine throughout the meal. Did it instead of a toast round and refused to let my dad buy a round. It worked out great! But these days we’ve been to open bar weddings and all I think is the cost 💰

It’s your wedding you do you, We did table wine but like you say the majority of ppl only drink it because it’s there….not every one loves wine (as much as me lol) well done on the run 👏

We done table wine a drinks reception. I think the drinks reception was plenty. There was over half the wine still there in morning so I handed it out to guests as they left next day. Waste of money.

The only time I’ve really noticed if there’s wine or not, is if I don’t have a drink or can’t get a drink during the speeches 😂 so just keep that in mind to maybe serve a toast drink instead?
