It feels like a ploy to push more people into electric vehicles. Once the majority rely on EVs, there’s a concern that people could have less control over their own transport, because these vehicles depend heavily on software, charging infrastructure and connected systems. If those systems can be restricted, monitored or remotely controlled, then our freedom to travel could ultimately depend on whoever controls the technology and infrastructure.
