Police have busted a traveling thief with more than $400,000 in stolen jewelry and cash. Marcu Rostas, 33, of Romania, was arrested August 26 after allegedly pocketing a $15,000 gold chain from Beryl & Co. Fine Jewelers in Stuart, Florida, the day before. Rostas can be seen on video using a sleight of hand trick to pocket the necklace before the store clerk's very eyes. Surveillance cameras helped investigators track him to his car, where Martin County Sheriff's Office deputies say they found luxury watches, gold coins, a $40,000 diamond ring, and $33,000 in cash. Deputies even discovered high-end jewelry hidden in a stuffed Squishmallow, and a $40,000 Rolex on Rostas’ 10-year-old son. His wife and young daughter were also found wearing expensive stolen jewelry. Authorities say Rostas is part of a larger network of thieves operating similar schemes across the U.S., with ties to thefts from Florida to Washington and Texas. Rostas is now being held in Martin County Jail with no bond as the investigation continues. #truecrime #heists
