One of the biggest mistakes beginners make is trying to memorize every chord individually. Learn the formula, understand the scale, and you can build chords in any key. 🎹 There's a simpler way. 👇 LEARN CHORD FORMULAS. A major triad follows: 1 – 3 – 5 A minor triad: 1 – ♭3 – 5 Once you understand the formula… You can build the chord in any key. 1 — MAJOR CHORD EXAMPLE Let's build C Major. C major scale: C D E F G A B Take: 1 → C 3 → E 5 → G Therefore: C = C–E–G Simple. 2 — NOW MOVE IT Use the same formula in G Major. G major scale: G A B C D E F# Take: 1 → G 3 → B 5 → D Therefore: G = G–B–D Same formula. Different key. 3 — MINOR CHORDS Minor triad formula: 1 – ♭3 – 5 Example: A minor A major scale: A – B – C# – D – E – F# – G# Lower the 3rd: C# → C So: Am = A–C–E 4 — HERE'S THE REAL “SHORTCUT” Instead of thinking: “I have to memorize C, D, E, F, G, A, B chords…” Think: “I know the formula. I can build the chord.” That's a completely different level of understanding. 5 — LEARN THESE FORMULAS FIRST 🎯 Major: 1 – 3 – 5 Minor: 1 – ♭3 – 5 Diminished: 1 – ♭3 – ♭5 Major 7: 1 – 3 – 5 – 7 Minor 7: 1 – ♭3 – 5 – ♭7 Save this guide. 6 — TEST YOURSELF 🧠 Build these without looking them up: 1️⃣ D Major 2️⃣ E Minor 3️⃣ A Major 4️⃣ B Minor 5️⃣ F Major Use the formulas. Don't memorize. BUILD. 7 — THE BIGGER LESSON When you understand: Scales → Intervals → Chords → Progressions you stop seeing the piano as 88 individual keys. You start seeing patterns and relationships. That's when music theory starts becoming practical. Lastly. STOP MEMORIZING EVERYTHING. Start understanding why it works. 🧠🎹 Try these chord challenge on and tell me how many you got right. 👇 NOW I HAVE A VIDEO GUIDE TEACHING ALL OF THESE. DM ME IF INTERESTED 📌 Save this. 📤 Send it to a beginner pianist. Like this post and Follow me for more tips like this ✨️ #PracticeWithPurpose #PianoTips #ChurchMusicians #klassiqfingerz #LearnPiano
