It's not completely true...did you ever shop at Aldi when you are back home? You still have to put a quarter to unlock Aldi's cart ...at least in Chicago.

In Lidl you can get a free coin-like token to put in a cart, just ask the cashier.

They give out plastic “coins” for free in most of big shops if you want and you can take them home. But the carts have gps and if you leave the place or parking lot the wheels just gonna lock up

Everyone in my family has a special round keychain that fits the shopping carts at both Biedronka and Lidl. We keep it attached to our car keys.

coins do work but there are often specially designed keys that fit perfectly in there so you can use them to open one there are 2 types 1 being made out of metal and one being made out of plastic the plastic ones are ass get a metal one because the plastic breaks easily
