we're going into middle school and realizing friends aren't always nice, we're losing friends and getting upset about it and when we don't have time to focus on emotions because of essays and homework it comes out in a burst, half of the time being when we're trying to get homework done fighting with a group chat having rumors spread about ourselves but before we even set our bag down we're told go clean your room do the dishes and take the trash out, and everything built up ends up coming out on our parents sometimes, but parents can be stressed with work and yell at us and if we defend ourselves or yell back we're being bratty but if we raise our tone by a notch parents get defensive in a half second, I'm eleven and I just started sixth grade, I've been told to kms, I've been slapped, shoved, punched, and lied about all by a old friend, I'm struggling in math because my teacher only teaches multiple step problems then trails off and expects us to get right back to the topic, I've been gone for two days have an F in math and nothing below an A- in any other class, I'm sick with a fever silent migraine and a sore throat and so much congestion in my head my hearings muffled and I'm still doing a study guide homework packet studying for a test I missed and doing two other homework pages while crafting a gift box for my boyfriend, I can't even tell mom I'm stressed without her comparing everything problem she has to mine, the other day I asked why I couldn't watch a movie I didn't know the rating on then got a lecture on how parents don't need to explain things and I need to stop being bratty, teachers are already saying that we're "young adults" and need to stop acting childish. teenagers might be bratty but instead of saying "Fix your attitude you're being a brat" ask them what's wrong instead of jumping on their back.
