Life update. I still think about you during moments when there’s no reason for you to cross my mind. Sometimes, it only takes a song, a place, or the simplest little thing to remind me of you and bring all the memories back. I still miss you. I don’t need to lie to myself about that. But I won’t ask how you are anymore. Not because I stopped caring, but because I’ve learned that some people have to be cared for from a distance—in silence, without disturbing their lives. There are times when I want to message you, tell you that I thought of you, and ask how you’ve been. But I stop myself. Because I don’t want my absence to become a reason for me to enter your life again. So if you ever think of me too, I hope you know that there was once someone who wanted to ask how you were, wanted to hear your voice, and simply wanted to know if you were okay… but chose to remain silent instead. Not everyone we miss is someone we need to go back to. Sometimes, the deepest form of letting go is continuing to remember someone without ever reaching for them again.
