As a death witch, if the locals warn you about something, listen. They know the area more than you. They’ll know about bad spirits/entities. The reason why they can’t tell people what to watch out for is because it brings the bad energy to them.

it's fine if you don't believe the supernatural stuff, but when a local says so, you do as they say. didn't matter what you think. their warning is probably what saves your life. i went through some rural highways over 20 years ago. my uncle was driving and a local at the diner said, once we enter the mountains road, do not said anything negative or provoking. if someone was driving and provoking us from the back, ignore them. just follow the lane and do not go over the limits. let's just say, after few weeks, there's a huge car crash there. in the news, locals already warn them, but they didn't care. no one in that crash survived.
