A lot straight people use it as a synonym to being gay, and some rude ass people ise it to call gay people the f slur without saying it and I hate it. But like, in the gay community it's normal if someone is actually a twink. But I see people on here calling just anybody a twink and not bothering to learn what it actually means.

people have stopped using the word for the purpose of defining a certain type of gay man and have just started using it as a derogatory term for all gay men… and its also kinda being used as a replacement for the f slur. Idk i think the overuse is because of homophobia and misogyny (misogyny because notice how people don’t use otter or bear or any other term for gay men as negatively and as frequently as the term people use to describe men who are typically more feminine)
