Being neurodivergent in a split household is a lot. I would get overwhelmed with going back and forth between households because you have to get acclimated each time. Think about each time he goes to a new environment as a reset button. So he may come back with new good or bad habits or forgotten habits y’all establish before.

Hey hey, therapist here. 👋🏾Systems, systems, systems... he needs systems to help him keep track of his daily task. Each day needs to be dedicated to a certain task so that he's not overwhelmed with it all-- once he completed the task he checks it off and he's able to do something positive that yall come up with. If he doesn't complete the task he'll have double the next day.. if he has 2 days of doubles task than you take something from his weekend. I'm in Ga but I would love to work with you and Miles on how to generate some functional systems for you and him. Let's connect❤️

get him a behavioral therapist & someone for you to vent to as well. with boys you always gotta look under the bed, in the cabinets & all the nooks & crannies. if you can find a mentor for him that would be dope too. and give him chores as well 🥰

Get him on a schedule with a plan on how to do it. Consistency becomes his system of taking care of his room/house

It’s all kids…😩 but once my sons got older they got 💯 % better. In fact, my oldest son keeps his home immaculate.

i DO NOT play with bugs I make mine pick up everyday so it stays clean . Deep cleaning / Chores on Saturdays too , they get a little weekly allowance IF I DONT HAVE TO TELL THEM TO DO THEY SHITT they have a cash app card thats what's been working for us.

Was he hiding the trash from you? If so, I’d tell him I’d rather see him taking the trash out from his room rather than hide it. My little cousin had this issue and said her mom would yell at her or make comments about the trash as she was cleaning/taking it out so she would hide it and forget about it 😂😂

My son is like that. My son sees a therapist a sign of ADHD…. It’s like the more I tell him not to be he more he does
