Being a latch key kid! My parents didn’t get off work until 5-530pm. Making sure my chores were done, also knowing if I back talked my parents I’d either be grounded or got my butt whooped!

My grandparents had a party line - one landline that was shared by 3 households. You had to pick up the receiver (from the rotary dial phone) and listen to make sure there wasn't someone already using "the line." Kids today would never survive! 😆
