@jamieharkin2: From one island to another 🇮🇪✈️🇨🇦 I’m back in Newfoundland!! I am here with Netflix for something very exciting 👀🎬 What can’t I miss while I’m here? Let me know if anyone has any recommendations or Irish connections with some stories for me!📍 • • #newfoundland #canada #stjohns #canadian #moving
No one is actually giving suggestions so here are mine: go to the rooms, visit the shops on duckworth especially posie row, try Toutons (pronounced like Towtun), try chips dressing and gravy at fabulous foods or the Big R with fish. Get rocket’s fish cakes. If you like sushi try east coast sushi, it’s better than the sushi on the west coast out here (fighting words I know). Go to Petty Harbour, but skip Chafe’s and try the Petty Harbour Public House instead.

How do you spot a Newfoundlander in Heaven? They’ll the the ones that are homesick.
well you obviously have to visit the Irish loop the southern shore of the Avalon is made up of so many tiny communities that have deep Irish roots. Bonavista is where John Cabot "discovered" Newfoundland and Trinity was a major shipping hub, back in the day, from England. I recommend heading to Dildo and having a mean and a pint at the Dildo Brewery and museum.

Enjoy! I’ve met many wonderful people from Newfoundland. The villages there have done an amazing job preserving their Irish accents, sayings, heritage, and culture. It’s beautiful to see how strongly those traditions have been kept alive through the generations.
