I think this only works for private companies.In gov departments, the HR Manager is not even part of the interviewing panel,but the Head of the that Unit/Section will be chairing the Interview.

HR need to move with time and adopt modern way of recruiting the best. CVs have evolved, Hybrid Interviews are in place and so must be the Interview pattern and flexible approach.

follow this advise at your own risk... the hiring manager is also looking at how you treat people you don't consider important especially the good managers

i interview people and im involved in the decisions to hire, i can say for me that is a no no, I dont like it when people dont stick to the structure or format of the interview

I was hired at SARS by the hiring manager. Then he said for the sake of HR and protocol I must register and apply on Careers24. I went to the interview knowing fully well I got the job. And I got it.
