@tilscience: This snake cave has been all over my FYP as well as the snake eye and three whale rock. The wildest part is that all three of these formations are found in the same rural province in Thailand It’s one of the least visited placed in the country yet it sits on the most geologically and mythologically exciting landscapes in all of SE Asia Who thinks the locals are right and this is actually a petrified Titanoboa? #thailand #cave #geology #mythology

I’m Thai, and I can tell you there’s a lot of belief and respect surrounding Naka Cave. You’re welcome to visit, but many locals say that if your intentions aren’t genuine, you might never make it to the top. Sounds strange, I know, but I’ve heard plenty of stories. People who were disrespectful during the trip suddenly felt unwell, had to turn back, or even ended up in the hospital. Coincidence? Maybe. But for many Thais, Naka Cave is more than just a tourist attraction, it’s a sacred place that should be treated with respect..

Tbh I think it being fossilized giant animals from millions of years ago was a cooler explanation than just the rain made the rocks like that 😭

My theory is that, they were men made thousands of years ago, by a forgotten undocumented civilization.

I think they better actually test that. I dont think the rock theory stands because the entire face of the wall would look like that. not just the areas that happened to be shaped like scales.

I never knew Thailand was so rich geologically, and recently I’ve found that Thailand also has fossil formations for Cretaceous dinosaurs too

Yeah, the truth is WAY more interesting. I assumed it was carved by humans. At every stage of evolution, we love a theme. 😂 The fact these are natural formations?! I will think about it at least once a day, for the rest of my life.

It’s fascinating how patterns in nature repeat or show up in unexpected places.

I love how the earth can geologically reflect the creatures that inhabit it, it’s so beautiful
