I found out if you pull the little rubber stopper off the door of a locker and put it under the little tab of the nozzle it hits the roof. The first person to use it after my modification was the vice principal. ...also happened to be the first day the cameras were turned on at our school 🤷

My elementary school was really good about making sure we knew the custodians' names! If we passed them in the hall, the teachers would tell us all, "Say hi to Mr/Mrs X" and, like dutiful little chucklefucks, we all did. Middle and high school, not so much.

As a janitor in a college dorm, that type of activity never ends. Only they don’t clean up after themselves 🙄. It amazes me how many “kids” look at me like I have three heads, if they look my way at all. Thank you for teaching your kids to get to know us. We are just out here making a living like everyone else.

I sit here listening as a mother and also a therapist working with elementary school kids all I could think was this is amazing. Where has this curiosity gone? I genuinely try to carry this whimsy and curiosity to remain grounded in the moment of children being children! The world needs more of this! I know.I know...way off topic.

I appreciate this story as the mom of a kid who does stuff like this. It’s hard to relate but I always try to remember he is living in the moment one clogged drain at a time and is literally not thinking ahead to the next flood. I realize that wasn’t your point, but it was helpful nonetheless.

All I think is: “what if net neutrality wasn’t overturned in 2018?” That was what kicked off my rad school career into software engineering, and my data engineering/AI degree to continue my growth BECAUSE I DON’T TRUST THE TECH BROS I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH IN 2010. ugh. Your story resonates so much.
